{"id":715,"date":"2022-02-08T12:36:19","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T12:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fraser-clark.com\/food\/?p=715"},"modified":"2022-02-08T12:36:19","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T12:36:19","slug":"caramel-drizzle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fraser-clark.com\/food\/archives\/715","title":{"rendered":"Caramel Drizzle"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>A caramel drizzle that can be used to flavour frosting, decorate cakes or drizzled over ice cream.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ingredients\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)<\/li><li>6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature (85 grams)<\/li><li>1\/4 cup heavy cream, room temperature (60 grams)<\/li><li>1\/4 teaspoon table salt (2 grams)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"instructions\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Place a medium sauce-pan over medium heat.<\/li><li>Pour in 1 cup sugar gradually, adding 1\/4 cup at a time. Wait until the sugar is mostly dissolved, then add in the next bit of sugar.<\/li><li>As the sugar melts it will gradually deepen in color.<\/li><li>Stir occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved and has become an amber color, then turn off the heat.<\/li><li>Slowly mix in 6 Tbsp of butter (2 Tbsp at a time) then stir in 1\/4 cup of heavy cream and 1\/4 tsp salt. The mixture will be thin but will thicken as it cools.<\/li><li>Pour into a separate container, then place in fridge to cool and\/or store.
